U.S. Stocks Finish Lower on Tech Weakness

Stocks finished lower Monday, dragged by tech and consumer discretionary stocks, as investors worried about the European debt situation and global growth.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 47 points, or 0.4%, at 12,548, after fluctuating between the positive and negative territory through most of the trading session. The S&P 500 declined by 8 points or 0.6% at 1329, while the Nasdaq saw the steepest drop of 46 points, or 1.6%, at 2782.
Only 10 out of the 30 Dow components finished the day higher. Overall market breadth was also negative, with 32% of the stocks advancing, while 66% declined.
